Medical Biochemistry Research Laboratory

Medical Biochemistry Research Laboratory is dedicated to advancing our understanding of the biochemical processes that drive human health and disease. Our research focuses on uncovering the molecular mechanisms underlying complex conditions such as cancer, metabolic disorders, and neurodegenerative diseases.

Using an interdisciplinary approach that integrates biochemistry, molecular biology, and clinical research, we seek to elucidate the molecular mechanisms of diseases and explore novel therapeutic strategies. Our research areas include, but are not limited to protein biochemistry including enzyme purification and kinetic studies, enzyme inhibition, protein-ligand interaction, quorum sensing, cancer biology, natural products, drug discovery, histamine intolerance and liposomal storage diseases.

In addition to our research activities, the laboratory is strongly committed to the training and mentorship of postgraduate students. We provide a dynamic and supportive environment for Master's and Ph.D. candidates to develop their research skills, critical thinking, and scientific leadership, preparing them for successful careers in academia, industry, and healthcare.
