The Veterinary Microbiology Laboratory is a center that conducts diagnostic and research activities for the diagnosis, isolation and characterization of bacterial, viral, fungal and parasitic agents that threaten animal health. The laboratory contributes to the diagnosis of infectious diseases by performing microbiological analyses on clinical samples obtained from domestic and wild animals. It also supports the identification of zoonotic diseases and the development of preventive strategies for public health. In addition to modern microbiological techniques, infectious agents are determined with antimicrobial susceptibility tests and serological tests, and epidemiological monitoring studies are carried out. The laboratory also actively contributes to academic studies, research projects and student education within the veterinary faculty.
